CNC 2.0 design language
do you do when your company which has resisted CNC manufacturing for years,
finally succumb to market demand and ask you to develop a design capable
to compete with the best devices CNC'ed from aluminium?
You rethink and transform the process.
We have become accustomed to the usual formula of anodised CNC In intelligent devices, but considering the history of metals we find that this extraordinary material is capable of much more. The idea was to cut the aluminium in ways that reveal the natural metallic shine underlining the relation to nobler metals and showing the precision of the manufacturing. The result is extraordinarily different but has an exquisite feel to the touch and evokes quality and reliability of metal crafting to the end user.
Today this design language, also known as Liquid Metal, is being used in the high end Yoga models 910 and 710.
